IMO, if an agent isn't helping you sell more homes, so that the commission is a positive, rather than a negative, then there's no sense in using one. In a down market, we all feel the effects, but finding an agent who can help move more homes should be the objective. I can't speak for all Realtors, but I'd enjoy visiting with you further about the problems you're facing, to see if there's anything we could do to help you, rather than hurting you with unjustified commission expenses. When an industry is down everyone suffers but Realtor don't seem to be making any cuts. Builders are losing their shirts and some their entire businesses. We have been unable to use any Realtor to help sell houses because we truly can not afford the commissions.
