Only today and tomorrow remain for those of us who can’t get enough of touring the new homes available throughout the metro area, so get out and enjoy what promises to be a beautiful day, and maybe we’ll bump into each other here and there!
It’s amazing how many people I know who really look forward to the annual Parade of Homes, almost like they look forward to Christmas. Whether it’s to enjoy the homes or pick up some decor tips, they REALLY get into this time of year!
Having lived in Oklahoma my whole life, it’s easy to take it for granted and not really appreciate how good we have it here in Oklahoma, but I was recently reminded of that by a few facebook friends.
During ‘The Parade,’ our local builders really pull out all the stops and go above and beyond to show off their talents to us, so get out and enjoy it this week!

Pretty big props for the long-standing tradition of where to be during the week of July 4th. This year, the festival runs from June 25th through July 4th, so if you’re looking for something to do, check out the LibertyFest schedule and I’m sure you’ll find something for everyone to enjoy!
If you’ve never witnessed what disabled athletes can accomplish, you don’t want to miss the UCO Endeavor Games this weekend. It’s a great family event if you’re looking for things to do and, most likely, you and your family will take something away that you’ve never imagined. Go check it out and cheer these guys & girls on as they overcome hurdles, not only on the field of competition, but real-life hurdles that many of them were told they’d NEVER overcome!

According to News9, the Oak Tree Golf Club, under it’s new ownership, is making a dramatic change, and will now be called “Oak Tree National.” If you’re wondering WHY, as I was, check out this video of Owner, Ed Evans discussing the coming chages.
It’s funny to me that, even with all the progress our great metro has seen over the past decade or so, the images conjured up when someone mentions Oklahoma are still often of dustbowl history. Oftentimes people don’t travel here because they honestly believe that there’s nothing here worth seeing, but as anyone who’s visited lately can tell you, things have changed, and dramatically!
